Flameworking 201 Series

If you have taken Flameworking 101 here and/or are certified on the torch in our flameroom, it's time to up your game! (Not certified in our flameroom? Take Flame101, or email us to schedule an appointment if you already have torch experience.)

Ed Hastings will be teaching Flameworking 201: Beyond the Mandrel!

Session 1: Dangly Things! Learn to work off-mandrel to create multiple types of bails, which bridges into learning pendants and icicles.

Session 2: Implosions (Marbles)--Bring a design to life inside the glass!

Session 3: Small Sculptures. Start with something simple like a fish or dolphin, then explore what the glass can do!

Session 4: Using a blow pipe to create hollows!

Plan to bring or buy your own glass; you'll need at least four rods (about 1/4lb) of clear or transparent glass, and some opal colors to play with. You'll be using 104COE glass in class, but the skills should transfer easily to 33COE!  Bring your own glasses and tools if you have them.

A 50% deposit is required to hold your space in this class (Refundable if you have to cancel at least 7 days before the class.) Min 4, Max 6 students
