Class Policies
-To register for a class, a 50% deposit is required to hold your spot. Deposits are refundable or transferable to another class up to 7 days before the class starts. Payment in full is required on the first day of class.
-We know that unexpected things happen in life, and we will do our best to accommodate last minute changes. HOWEVER, our policy is that cancellations less than 7 days before class are not refundable. We MAY be able to transfer you to another class, but this is an exception, not a rule. No-shows without prior contact will forfeit all payments made toward class price.
- If a class does not have a minimum number of sign-ups by 7 days before the class, it will be cancelled and your money refunded. We will contact you if this happens.
-If class is cancelled due to weather, we will post an announcement on Facebook. (We generally make these decisions based on the local weather, and area school/event cancellations. With this in mind, we try to make the decision 24 hours ahead of the class time, but may put out an announcement just a few hours ahead of the class if unexpected conditions arise.) If bad weather is incoming and you are concerned about traveling a distance, we recommend that you contact us as far in advance as possible. We will reach out as soon as possible with information about a potential make-up date or full refund if applicable.
-We ask that you wear close-toed shoes in our classroom as a safety measure.
-For flameroom classes, we recommend wearing layers; it gets very warm in the torch room and most folks find they wish they weren't wearing a sweater! Please wear close-toed shoes and plan to pull back long hair, and avoid baggy clothing.
For Multi-Week Classes
-Students can use the classroom free of charge during store hours while enrolled in a weekly course (does not include kiln, torch or specialty equipment), and get 20% off all purchases during enrollment (excluding Gallery and sale items, grinders and saws, classes and labor charges).
-Make-ups for missed classes (in a multi-week class): As a general rule, a missed class can be made up in another session of the same class, depending on scheduling and space. If you miss class two of Beginner Stained Glass, for example, you may come to one class during another session (though we ask that it not be the first class, since the instructor needs to be able to focus on supporting the new students.) Missed a class on Thursday night? Come the next morning to the Friday class! Classes with limited enrollment may be harder to make up (flameroom classes, especially); in these cases, the instructor may try to catch you up before the end of the session and no makeup will be necessary. When in doubt, contact us!
