The Galleries at Stained Glass Express

Welcome to our online home for our in-store galleries. Everything you'll see below has been handmade by talented Mainers.

Katherine Adams-Gary

Katherine was born and raised on the coast of Maine and has 40 years experience with stained glass. She has worked with clients across Maine and New Hampshire to create one-of-a-kind panels for residences, restaurants, and churches. Katherine will work with your colors, photos, and design ideas to build a custom piece for you. This is a selection of her work that is available for sale online and more in her gallery at Stained Glass Express.

Carolyn Tobias

Based in Chelsea, Maine, I am a stained glass artist with over eight years of hands-on experience creating custom and one-of-a-kind pieces. My work is rooted in traditional techniques, careful craftsmanship, and a deep appreciation for the way light and color transform a space. I take pride in collaborating with clients on commissioned projects, bringing their ideas to life in glass. When I’m not in the studio, I enjoy spending time with my grandson, which keeps me grounded and inspired.

Jim (Red) Veilleux

Red is a self-taught stained-glass artist who has been honing his craft since 1990! You can often find him in the large classroom working on repairs. His amazing work can be found in The Gallery where we spotlight his company "Artistic Endeavors".

Reilly Burgess

Reilly is proficient in restoration of antique and historic leaded windows. One of Reilly's specialties is traditional glass painting. Some of his recent restoration work includes the Strong United Methodist Church as well as the First Baptist Church of Yarmouth. His work can be found in our gallery, and he teaches classes in lead came!

Sue Lawrence-Reeder

Living in Maine, artists are surrounded by the artistry of nature; from her rugged coastline, her million acres of lakes, to her miles of pine tree forests.  Mainely Creatives, inspired by that rich diversity, creates two uniquely different offerings by artisan, Sue Lawrence-Reeder. The crafting of each stained glass piece begins, not only with the choice or creation of a pattern, but the meticulous selection of glass to be used based on its color, opacity and texture.

Carmela Patriotti

Carmela Patriotti is a glass artist and an elementary and middle school art teacher based in Augusta, Maine, who began training in stained glass and mosaic art in 1985.  Since then, Carmela has moved fused glass into her repertoire of work and teaching. You can find her newest series of fused work, “Messy Monets,” in our store or right online under this blurb. Her passion for flowers is evident in the beautiful pieces she creates, each one a testament to her artistic talent and dedication. “Inspiring creativity and nurturing growth, one piece of art at a time.”

Lucie Boucher & Bernie Huebner

The Reverend Lucie Boucher and Bernie Huebner were the creative forces behind Stone Ridge Glass(now closed) and this wonderful line of glass and light. Between the two of them, they have five advanced degrees, and a litany of exhibitions, awards, and commissioned artworks. Stone Ridge Glass has work in at least 32 different states and five countries. Lifelong educators, Lucie and Bernie were self-taught when it comes to glass, with many, many different experiments under their belts to get to this point. Glasscapes contain many different techniques of glasswork, from fused glass, to coldworking, and even lapidary work. The inspiration for the flexibility is the Japanese practice of alternating decorative wall scrolls through the seasons. Thus, you may not only re-compose your Glasscape pieces at will, but you may collect other glass sets and alternate them completely as you wish.
