Many people are familiar with the traditional art of stained glass, but fused glass has been working its way into the spotlight over the last several decades! This art form is a favorite for creating functional pieces like plates and bowls, as well as amazing decorative items, by melting glass in a kiln.
This 3-session introductory course is designed to give you the absolute basics of fused glass. You will learn how to use our space, how to find tools and materials you need, how to get your projects fired just how you want them, and what to expect from glass in the kiln! At the end of 3 sessions, you will be prepared to work independently on whatever beginner projects you choose. If you own a kiln, the instructor will spend some time working with you to make sure you feel confident!
During the class, you will make 3 small projects (more if you have time and interest) to learn three basic types of things you can do in the kiln. Shopping for materials is part of the instruction! Expect to spend $100 or more, depending on your color choices and project size. (Suggested projects are 6x6" and would cost a minimum of about $70).
