RECOMMENDED FOR ADVANCED BEGINNER+ TIFFANY-METHOD STAINED GLASS ARTISTS
Bring a stained glass panel and learn to frame its outer edges with zinc came. A great way to add stability and style to your work! Use our tools including soldering iron and saw (we have a couple to share; if you have your own saw, we highly recommend bringing it!)
Plan to bring or buy:
solder
flux & flux brush
1/4" zinc came - enough to frame your piece
a stained glass piece:
- square/rectangular; right angled corners only
- outer edges may be tinned, foiled, or bare
- if perimeter has been finished with beaded solder, use a soldering iron to take off most of the solder
- panel should be complete and ready for framing when you arrive!
- NOTE: framing with zinc is not a way to hide uneven edges. The outside edges of your panel should be flush and straight. Feel free to stop by with it for someone to check ahead of time!
