Uroboros Pale Blue Transparent Frit Coarse 96 COE in an 8.5 oz jar.
Coarse Size is .1 in to .3 in (2.5mm to 7.6mm).
Uroboros’ crushed glass frit is made from glass recycled from the production of fusible sheet glass at both Uroboros and Spectrum Glass companies. All pieces salvaged for use as frit are separated from all other glass at the time of production. This is done in order to insure purity and expansion tolerance standards for frit are consistently met. Fine and powder grades are magnetically cleaned of metal residues and all grades are fuse tested to the System 96 clear fusing standard after crushing and sizing.
Typical uses of frit range from pate de verre to shading on fused or blown forms. Mixtures of larger sizes such as mosaic with dark colors in fine or powder provide particularly dramatic effects. Frits can also be cast into molds for fun and dramatic 3 dimensional effects. Opaque frit provides maximum contrast and opacity in a white glass, while the reactive frits can be used to develop unique special effects, ranging from subtle to dramatic.
