Grind 9 degree and 18 degree angles on the edge of your glass for lampshades
This is a very slight angle or mitre edge.
By grinding your glass at this angle, when the pieces are assembled, they will butt or fit more accurately, making the lampshade stronger. You will also have thinner, more attractive outside solder joints - and use less solder!
